    FAQ

    Everything you might be wondering

How long is a YouTube playlist?
A playlist is as long as the sum of all its videos. Paste the playlist link above and press Calculate length — the tool adds up every video and shows you the exact total watch time, the number of videos, and the average length, plus how long it takes at 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x and 2x speed. No sign-up needed.
How do I find the total length of a playlist?
Open the playlist on YouTube, copy the URL from the address bar (it contains a list= parameter), and paste it into the calculator at the top of this page. You'll get the total runtime instantly, along with a video-by-video breakdown.
Can I see the time at 2x speed?
Yes — every result includes a Watch time by speed table with the total at 1x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x and 2x, so you can plan exactly how much time you'll need.
Does it work on any playlist?
It works on any public or unlisted YouTube playlist, of any length. Private playlists — ones you haven't shared — can't be read. There's no meaningful cap on how many videos a playlist can have.
    Is it free?
Yes. This calculator is completely free and needs no account. To summarize every video in a playlist, process playlists in bulk, and chat with any video, use the Claras Chrome extension.

The fast way to find a YouTube playlist's length

A YouTube playlist length calculator reads a playlist and adds up every video so you know the total watch time before you commit. Paste a link, and this free tool gives you the total duration, the number of videos, the average length, and — because almost nobody watches at 1x — how long the playlist takes at 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x and 2x speed.

How to find the total length of a playlist

    1. Open the playlist on YouTube and copy its URL — it contains a list= parameter.
    2. Paste it into the calculator at the top of this page.
    3. Press Calculate length and wait a moment while every video is added up.
    4. Read the total watch time, then check the Watch time by speed table to plan how long it'll really take you.

    Why calculate a playlist's duration?

A course, a lecture series, or a podcast archive can hide dozens of hours behind an innocent-looking thumbnail. Knowing the total runtime up front lets you decide whether it fits your week, work out how many days it'll take at your usual speed, and see the exact video count and average length — instead of scrolling to the bottom of the playlist and guessing.

Does the 2x watch-time really save that much?

It adds up fast. A four-hour playlist becomes about two hours and forty-five minutes at 1.5x, and just over two hours at 2x. The Watch time by speed table shows the total at each speed so you can pick the pace that fits the time you have.

    Is there a limit?

This free tool is meant for occasional use and runs on a shared queue, so very large playlists can take a moment. If you work with playlists often — or want to summarize every video in one, process playlists in bulk, and chat with any video — the Claras Chrome extension removes the wait and the limits.
