🚀 Claire Vo's journey with ChatPRD

Claire Vo, founder of ChatPRD, runs a profitable startup as a solo founder using a team of AI agents — a modern take on entrepreneurship built on autonomy, smart use of technology, and personal values.

💪 Solo founding vs. team dynamics

The case against

  • All on you: if it goes poorly it's on her; if it goes well, she gets the credit.
  • Skill limits: one person rarely has every skill a business needs.
  • No external accountability: without co-founders, the built-in push of a team is missing.

The case for

  • Total control: "To truly own your own company allows you to shape the life you really want."
  • Flexibility: no board or investors — pivot or slow down as life dictates. Being pregnant was a pivotal moment.
  • Authorship: owning the business means writing your own narrative and goals.

🛠️ Building ChatPRD & the role of AI

ChatPRD grew out of Claire's ChatGPT work at Color Health, where she spotted the need for a structured PM tool. She launched with a landing page + Stripe checkout to test demand — and it took off.

Open Claws: a "constellation" of nine AI agents, each owning a function — marketing, sales, support — plus Polly, an AI executive assistant who handles scheduling and calendar conflicts autonomously.

🎯 Structuring a solo business with AI

  • Dedicated roles give each agent a clear identity and purpose.
  • Scalable — add new roles as needs evolve.
  • No single point of failure — distributed tasks keep things running.

⚡ Lifestyle & fulfillment

She defines success on her own terms, aligning the business with family and happiness over scale — even as others question skipping investment.

"You're never going to escape having a boss; mine are my customers."
0:00I've built this constellation of nine open claws — a marketing one, an EA, a sales agent, a support agent — so I'm not the single point of failure.
0:12It's fully bootstrapped, no investment. I'm the only employee, the only owner, and I only work with who I want to work with.
0:20So what's the reason not to be a solo founder? Honestly, if you just don't have the complete skill set to do all the jobs. It's actually very hard.
0:44The case for it: to truly own your company lets you shape the life you want. I can say no to customers I don't want to work with. I call it authorship.
1:06It was a classic product-market-fit story — you build something and only realize after that people really, really want it.
1:35I started it as CPTO at Color Health, running a big product and engineering org during the pandemic. Despite the title, I was also a PM.
4:30ChatGPT wouldn't let me monetize the GPT, so I put up a landing page with a Stripe checkout to see if anyone would pay a dollar.
5:19My goal was: if this buys me a glass of wine a month, I'm happy. Then a bottle a month, then a case — now it's much more than that.
6:20I did this while being a CPTO — support tickets morning and evening — until it was enough of a business that I went full-time about a year ago.
22:11I raised venture for my last startup, did the accelerator, it was acquired. This time I was very clear on the life I wanted.
37:51Agents are just management — designing an org, giving jobs to agents, setting the operating model, and holding them to account.
42:21For scheduling I use Polly, my AI executive assistant — she sends proactive email updates and handles calendar conflicts on her own.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I export to Notion, Obsidian or Readwise?
Yes. Copy the summary or transcript as text, or export it as TXT, PDF or .srt, and drop it straight into whatever app holds your notes. Claras doesn't lock you into one tool.
Does Claras decide what to save for me?
No — Claras gives you the TL;DR, chapters and full transcript so you can scan a video's value yourself. SuperSearch will rank a whole batch of videos so you know which ones are worth a closer look, but you always choose what goes in your notes.
What's SuperSearch, and how does it help me filter videos?
SuperSearch runs on up to 20 videos at once, straight from a YouTube search page or a public playlist — then gives you transcripts, summaries, and one ranked "this one's worth it" recommendation. Instead of opening all 20, you open the 2 that matter.
Is Claras free?
Yes. There's a free version, plus five free browser tools that need no account. Add the Chrome extension to start, then upgrade to Pro for priority processing, bulk playlists and unlimited videos.
Which languages does it support?
Over 100. If the video has captions, Claras auto-detects the language and can summarize or translate it into the language you prefer.
Is my data private?
Claras only processes the video you ask it to, and never sells your data or posts anything to your account. See our privacy policy for the details.
